Rotana to distribute new Arab cinema channel with Alchimie – Digital TV Europe
Subscription video aggregator OTT Alchimie has entered into a partnership with Middle Eastern media company Rotana Media Group.
Alchimie and Rotana will jointly publish, manage and distribute a new film channel AflamPlus TV as a premium subscription movies-on-demand service.
Aflam means films or films in Arabic. Rotana offers five popular movie channels across the Middle East. The new SVOD offering will be distributed by Alchimie on its European SVOD network outside France and will be available on digital platforms, including the UK TVPlayer owned by Alchimie for £ 4.99 per month.
AflamPlus TV will offer a regularly updated playlist of current and classic Arabic films in the comedic, dramatic, romantic and action genres. The films will be screened in their original language, selected from a library of over 2,000 Arabic films.
