Marvel Head points out that seeing Shang-Chi in theaters is worth it in new video
A new behind-the-scenes featurette details the action scenes from Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings and Kevin Feige says it’s perfect for theaters.
Kevin Feige emphasizes the importance of seeing Shang-Chi and the legend of the ten rings in theaters in a new behind-the-scenes featurette for the upcoming Marvel film. The 25th MCU movie will feature Marvel’s Kung Fu Master, played by former star Simu Liu Kim’s convenience. He will be joined by Awkwafina, who will play Shang-Chi’s best friend Katy, and Tony Leung who plays Wenwu, also known as Mandarin and the head of the titular organization Ten Rings. Forced to face a past he thought he left behind, Shang-Chi will have to face his family’s legacy and become his own as a hero.
Shang-Chi will be released in theaters exclusively on September 3, a difference from the previous version of Marvel. Black Widow hit theaters and on Disney + ‘s Premier Access platform on the same day, a move that prompted star Scarlett Johansson to sue Disney for lost backend profits. Many have wondered if Shang-Chi would meet the same fate as concerns about the Delta variant of the coronavirus continue to grow, but Marvel has continued to reaffirm Shang-Chifilm exclusivity, giving the film a 45-day window before its VOD release.
Now, in a new Marvel featurette, Feige once again highlights just how much of a show Shang-Chi is and how it’s worth seeing the movie in theaters. First, the video goes behind the scenes of one of the film’s most heralded action scenes, a sequence that sees Shang-Chi and Katy confront Razorfist on a bus as he passes through San Francisco City. . Interspersed in the video are comments from the cast and crew before Feige appears onscreen and says: “This movie will take your breath away on the big screen and it’s as big as anything we’ve ever brought to life in the MCU before.. The featurette then goes on to show many more behind-the-scenes clips of the making of the various action scenes. Check out the video below:

Marvel is betting a lot on Shang-Chi‘s theatrical performance to say the least. Not only will this give the studio an idea of what to do with the Eternals, but it will also prove whether the box office will continue to grow or not. It can also signal other studios if they need to delay some of the most anticipated upcoming films on the fall 2021 roster.
Luckily, Marvel’s latest will still be released, and early reviews say Feige is certainly right about it. Shang-Chi brings some of the best action to the MCU yet. The public will be able to judge for themselves in less than two weeks and after Black Widow immersed in Marvel’s past, the fact that Shang-Chi looking to the future makes its theatrical debut all the more exciting.
