Mark Ruffalo, Toni Collette and Naomi Ackie Join Parasite Director Bong Joon-Ho’s New Movie
avengers Star Mark Ruffalo is among a number of big Hollywood stars who have joined the cast of Bong Joon Ho’s upcoming film, based on the novel. Mickey7 by Edward Ashton. According to Deadline, which first reported the cast, the novel “follows Mickey7, who is an Expendable: a disposable employee of a human expedition sent to colonize the ice world of Niflheim. Whenever there is a mission too dangerous, even suicidal, the crew turns Mickey. After one iteration dies, a new body is regenerated with most of its memories intact. The report says Bong became “loosely attached” to the adaptation late last year and finally decided over the holidays that Pattinson was perfect for the lead role. This is Bong’s first project since Parasitewhich hit in 2019 and became a huge critical and commercial success, becoming the first non-English language film to win the Academy Awards for Best Picture, Director and Original Screenplay, as well as the International Feature Film Award.
Bong is not a one trick pony; he did before snowdrops and The host. TNT, owned by Warner Bros., broadcasts the snowdrops TV adaptation. Warner Bros. Discovery also has a Parasite mini-series created at HBO by executive producers Adam McKay and Kevin Messick.
Ackie, who came to mainstream attention after her role in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalkerhas been cast as Whitney Houston in the upcoming biopic I want to dance with someone. Collette, critical darling since Muriel’s weddingrecently appeared in the HBO Max limited series The staircase and in Searchlight Alley of Nightmares.
