Jessie Buckley ready to return to the screen for a film based on a novel

jessy Buckley has been cast in a new drama movie titled Hot milk which is based on a novel by Deborah Sampling.

Irish actress Jessie Buckley is a true movie star in every sense of the word. She gave the performance of her career (so far) in the 2020 film, I’m thinking of ending things and, thankfully, Buckley isn’t planning on ending her acting career anytime soon. In fact, she was just cast in the new upcoming movie. Hot milk which will be directed by the screenwriter of Colette, Rebecca Lenkiewicz. Let’s not mention the superb performance that Buckley gave last year against Olivia Colman in The lost girl which could lead to an Oscar nod if the film lands multiple Oscar nominations as insiders predict.

Like The lost girl, Hot milk will be a film that deals with complex human relationships. Buckley stars as Sofia, a girl who visits a Spanish clinic with her mother Rose (played by the always-awesome Fiona Shaw, best known to mainstream moviegoers for her turns in the Harry Potter films and his hysterical work in Three men and a little lady) in order to find a cure for the mother’s paralysis. Another actress who will star in the next film is the stunning Vicky Krieps (Old) that never disappoints. Krieps will play Ingrid who Sofia befriends along the way. This film is, as stated, based on the novel by Deborah Levy.

Buckley is no stranger to making films about complex mother-daughter relationships after starring in the famous The lost girl, but she is also an actress who grabs the attention of the public every time she is on screen. In I’m thinking of ending things, she was perfectly cast opposite Jesse Plemons and Toni Collette in a film masterfully crafted by the always intriguing Charlie Kaufman. Many people thought Buckley put on an Oscar-caliber performance in this photo, but she was overlooked for a nomination. We can only hope she can win one this year for Best Supporting Actress as young Olivia Colman in The lost girl.

Hot milk will begin principal photography in Almeria later this year in September. HanWay Films will represent the film’s sales rights worldwide, sources say.

The director of this upcoming film, Lenkiewicz, had also written the script for the controversial film. Disobedience from several years back that starred Rachel Weisz and Rachel McAdams. It’s only fitting that Buckley is working with such a unique filmmaker coming off her work in director Maggie Gyllenhaal’s acclaimed film. The lost girl. Gyllenhaal is said to be a shoo-in for a Best Director Oscar nod this year and given Colman and Buckley’s performances in the film, it’s obvious why.

Jessie Buckley is a creative and wonderful talent and her fans are eagerly waiting to see Hot milk when released. No date has yet been set.
