Attention, red notice, another Netflix film is coming for your file

Last month Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson released tequila to celebrate incredible record for his Netflix movie Red Notice when it became the most watched movie in Netflix history. The action flick also starring Ryan Reynolds and Gal Gadot broke a record set by Bird box in 2018. Unfortunately for Red Notice, it looks like he’s going to be dethroned soon now that another new version is coming for his numbers.

that of Adam McKay Do not seek isn’t just Netflix’s # 1 movie of the week, the climate change comedy has now racked up the most viewing hours for a movie on the streaming service in its history. According to Deadline, between December 27 and January 2, Do not seek collected 152.29 million hours of viewing worldwide. In a week, the film is already arriving for Red Noticeit’s a big record.

It’s crazy, because when Red Notice received its record for the most watched movie in Netflix history, it had been available for almost a month. Do not seek is already getting close to winning the all-time record in a much shorter time. It shows that a lot of people were thrilled to see Leonardo DiCaprio, Jennifer Lawrence, Meryl Streep, Jonah Hill, Timothée Chalamet and Ariana Grande in the same movie.

Adam McKay, famous director Half brothers, The big court and Vice before his last film, shared his reaction to the numbers that are coming. He said this on Twitter:

I’m downright flabbergasted by this. # DontLookUp https://t.co/gIjxtS6LXSJanuary 5, 2022

Do not seek mixed left-wing reviews, with CinemaBlend’s Sean O’Connell leaning toward disinterest in the film and calling it a “disaster” in his review. However, audiences generally dug into the satire, applauding the film approaching the topic of climate change with laughter and compassion. The film follows two low-level astronomers (played by Leonardo DiCaprio and Jennifer Lawrence) who go on a giant media tour to warn humanity of an approaching comet they believe will destroy planet Earth.

Netflix does not generally share its viewing numbers, creating a bit of a blind spot in streaming compared to box office results. Yet seeing Do not seek climb up and approach Red Noticethe record will show many of people were streaming movies over the holiday season, from Christmas to New Years, and were looking for a new version to enjoy.

Plus, it shows that the power of the stars still holds sway over the world of cinema. The two best Netflix movies up to 2022 will feature some of Hollywood’s best-known talent. Another interesting part of all of this is Do not seek is not an action movie or a franchise. It’s just a comedy on a very real subject. So don’t expect this movie to stop being talked about anytime soon.
