American McGee’s Alice Asylum full script released – cinelinx
Personally, I’m a huge fan of the American McGee Alice games, and a third has slowly progressed in production. For those who are interested, you can head over to their patreon page which has slowly released art concepts and other assets for the upcoming game.
Currently, the page has over 3,000 contributors who are used for what the studio calls a “crowd design process.”
One of the recent updates has been the release of the full script for the upcoming game, which is used for the design and production of the game. Some aspects such as dialogue and flow will be adjusted as we go along. production, but for those who are interested not only in the game itself but in the way games are created, this is quite fascinating.
âThis is it. Finally⦠the narrative outline for Alice: Asylum is available for you to download, read, and participate in crowd design help,â McGee said on Patreon.
âThe story it contains is still a work in progress. Some elements (dialogue for example) can seem downright awkward. The phase of polishing these elements will then come as part of the crowd design process, âhe added. “After that, this content will be used to drive the production of the Design Bible.” (via Eurogamer)
The script includes a survey at the end that allows anyone to fill out and send it directly to the team. For those who are somewhat confused, the Patreon has allowed developers to work alongside fans by posting artwork, scripts, and ideas to get direct feedback. Contributors can then comment or produce their own ideas for submission to the team, which is considered. After all, American McGee is hoping to put a finalized product idea on the table to raise funds to produce a new 3rd installment in the franchise.
EA owns the rights behind the first two games, and American McGee has been said to have approached them for a 3rd installment, but the cult of the first two titles was not strong enough for a go-ahead. But here we are, we support it, and we can’t wait to see what happens! (And also here to once again request a remaster of the first 2 games so that I can play them on my PS5⦠..)
